I'm sitting here. . .my front room, living room, kitchen, and dining room are each an individual shambles, and all I can do is grin and be happy that tomorrow is Thursday. I still teach piano tomorrow, still have soccer practice, still drive to football, still have two more days of getting kids out of bed before 7 a.m., and well, obviously have a house to get back in order. . .and yet I'm so content that I actually accomplished what I accomplished today without loosing my head. It truly wasn't anything earth shattering, but it feels good anyway. I'm not sure if it's the sense of accomplishment, or just the fact that for the next three days, my only responsibilities are to do things to take care of my family. It feels oh. so. good.
Some highlights for tonight:
-Abbie had a great time at mutual and was able to bring a friend of hers along, who also seemed to have a good time.
-Justin and Spencer, who had the rare opportunity to attend mutual with me tonight, were downright angels.
-Ty received another rank advancement and is now a 1st Class Scout. All dressed up in his scout shirt, with football pants. There may be some things about Scouts that kind of drive me nuts, but can I just say how lovely it is that Mom's get acknowledged every time just such an advancement occurs? Not that I deserve recognition for helping him with Scouts, but somehow tonight, I feel a bit more recognized for everything else I did to get us all where we needed to be tonight and albeit selfish or egotistical, it feels pretty darn good :)
