I know I haven't blogged for a little while. Lots of pictures to follow. . .before that though, I just have to say that my foot hurts. I need a little sympathy : ( There is nothing quite like rolling your ankle and doing such a good job that you go sprawling across the parking lot. That is the reason my foot hurts so much today. Not broken, but sprained well enough to be really angry.
I chose a great time and place to do it as well. Leaving the church with a car load of youth I was taking home. It gets better. My keys were in my right hand, sewing machine in my left. Thank you Santa for bringing me a sewing machine many many years ago with a heavy, sturdy case. I've never been grateful for that case before, but I'm pretty sure that is the reason the machine stayed in tact when it flew across the lot as well. I also count it as a blessing that no one was walking directly in front of me, they certainly would have been mowed down.
Oh, not to worry. There was plenty of help there for me. It was just after mutual so the lot was full of youth, leaders, & parents alike. Not to mention the Bishop and the missionaries. Yep. To add insult to injury? It was OUR MiaMaid activity that had drawn so many people to be lingering outside. We had decorated the Bishop's truck. Made a real mess, along with leaving some meaningful goodies. You can't really call it "Bishop Appreciation" if all you do is make a mess for him, right? Anyway, our MiaMaid Leader texted him to let him know she was having car trouble (you can do that when you are the Bishop's wife), so he came out with the missionaries he was meeting with to help. Surprise! Nothing like having a lot of witnesses if you are going to make a fool of yourself.
While I sit here and the wonders of medicine take away some of the pain and swelling, I wonder if my foot really is that bad, or if it is just my damaged pride? Thank goodness I've never been one to dwell much on embarrassing moments. . .I mean really, how else could I blog about my foolishness for those that missed out on the live moment?

My condolences on your sprained ankle and injured pride. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to both! That's a cute idea for YW.
