Ran Away to the Zoo

Justin, Spence, and I ran away to the zoo today while everyone else was at school. I love being able to do that!

The Oregon Zoo, the Forestry Center, and the Children's Museum all share a parking lot. This train, "Peggy" is located outside of the Forestry Center. We'd never parked so close to the Center, and had never discovered the train yet. So the boys, "drove" us to the zoo.

"Peggy" first went into service May 3, 1909

Next week, the Zoo opens their new dinosaur exhibit. They had a few on display - we found out they are robotic! This dinosaur is right inside the gates and the kids can take turns controlling it.

When we got to the elephants today, the baby was taking a bath. We had so much fun watching, I didn't get my camera out until he was on his way back out. They boys thought it was pretty funny that as soon as he was out, he laid down and covered himself with dirt to dry off.

We had to stop back at the train so the boys could drive us back home.
